Sheridan Construction hosted 25 students from the Somerset Career & Technical Center for a first-hand look at our construction business.
Vice President and COO of Sheridan Construction, Dan Wildes, was excited to have students experience high-profile construction projects in action. After touring Sheridan’s Fabrication shop, Hammond Lumber, and BDS job sites, our goal was to spark excitement within the students regarding their futures in the industry. This hands-on experience helps to encourage earning trade certifications offered through SCTC in welding, carpentry, or CDL programs preparing students after high school to pursue well-paying jobs.
“We have great employees here at Sheridan. They have all worked together to help educate our next generation of workers. Sheridan welcomes the opportunity to continue to work with our local high school and college students, enforcing the importance of obtaining skilled trades education, with the ability to start a career after school right here in Central Maine.”
Dan Wildes, Sr. VP & COO, Sheridan Construction.
“Thank you and all of your staff for an amazing visit. The students and instructors were blown away by the level of engagement and thoughtfulness that went into planning this visit. It was exactly what we were looking for and the students had great things to say about Sheridan’s staff. We look forward to continuing our partnership and using what Sheridan did today as a model for all future business tours.”
