Black Dinah Chocolatier chocolates are made on Isle au Haut from single-origin chocolate sourced from Venezuela and Peru, combined with locally produced cream, butter, herbs, fruits and flowers from Maine farms and gardens. The latest of many accolades is a 2015 Good Food Award, which they won for their Cassis de Resistance Truffle.
The business, which Steve and Kate Shaffer founded in 2007, has grown. Early growth was fast, said Steve Shaffer. “Then we had to slow things down and figure it out.” The Shaffers are ready to grow Black Dinah Chocolatiers again.
